“It's so much darker when a light goes out than it would have been if it had never shone.” ~John Steinbeck
How do you walk through loss? Loss can hit us in many ways in unexpected moments. Loss occurs in every moment we breathe; loss of life, loss of moments, loss of physical items of importance. We all experience it differently. I believe there are gifts and blessings in every moment, it’s how you look at the situation. If we allow ourselves to see loss as a part of our journey instead of a painful diversion then we may just be able to embrace the gifts and lessons in the forward steps. Try walking into loss with a different perspective and see how it responds to your heart.

Do you dare? LOVE begins and ends with YOU! Pause in your day and consider this exercise from my new workbook coming out this summer!
I am missing people in my life lately who have left this earth more deeply than usual. Maybe it is the gift of age and journey at my feet, or perhaps the constant personal introspection as I walk through it. I have noticed a lot of loss around me as of late. It is the cycle of life, albeit painful along the way. I have watched lives leave that have barely gotten started, not getting the chance to sprout. I have watched lives that lived fully leaving countless blessings, though left us much too soon. And then I have embraced the beauty of lives lived on the highest of levels squeezing out every ounce of living possible and making sure the finish was grand. The common ground around all these losses is that I have seen is love. The lives are remembered, stories shared and endless photos. What strikes me the most is the love around them. As we take the time to remember those in our lives that have found their way to heavens waiting room. take time to show gratitude for being able to know such a light, a love, and a journey. The cycle of life can be brutal. There is no timeline for grief. But we can always find gratitude in the blessings and love that has passed on. I know my life is so much richer for having known them.
How do you define balance?
Life takes us in so many different directions in a day that we often fail to pause, listen and take care of ourselves. Life becomes about taking care of others, focusing on deadlines and checking off items from a never ending to-do list. If we give our whole selves to everyone and everything else, what will be left? Balance is a key to finding peace. So, I ask again, how do you find balance? Balance can be saying no more often when others ask for help. We want to show kindness and compassion to those we care about in our life. But, if we say yes to everyone and everything, is there anything left when you need to care for yourself? Sometimes we need to say no with love. Does all the work need to get done today? Take a look at your deadlines and to-do list. Ask the realistic questions of what needs to get done in this moment and what can wait a couple of days. When we embrace this balance in our lives, we are able to experience the balance in our wellness. Here's the thing...this idea is a big part of my work, but I am also on the other side of this equation like most rolling my eyes. I believe there is a place for manifesting what you desire out of your journey. When we put positive energy into the world it inevitably comes back to us. Though, I am also a realist having walking my own bumps and holes along the way. Those hard times are needed to help find clarity, to learn lessons that strengthen us within the paths we are trying to walk through. Life isn't easy, no one can tell you different by simply manifesting all the good. We need balance. We need the support of others. We need the constant lessons. Why? When we embrace the entire picture, our end goals are going to be a truer picture of what our journey holds. When we embrace balance, we don't let a slip or wrong turn derail us. Celebrate the hard, it is your companion towards clearing the path to joy!
