“When you inhale, you are taking the strength from God. When you exhale, it represents the service you are giving to the world."
Autumn and Fall are undoubtedly my favorite time of the year... leaves begin to turn glorious shades of color you simply wouldn’t believe if you didn’t see it with your own eyes. I thought I had known seasons until the East Coast stole my heart in 2009 to the point of no return.
Fall is a time for change and with change comes the inevitable gratitude...a good to time to begin reflecting on the year gone by. We tend to do this into the New Year, but I find as I watch the leaves turn and slowly drop to the dusty ground I can easily begin to name those special moments in which I want to give thanks for by November.
Why is this so important? It represents human nature. Change is inevitable, no matter how hard you try you simply cannot avoid it. And if you have the courage and strength to walk along side of it, you will be awed by the blessings received in each and every moment if you name all those things that brought you joy. Gratitude is at the heart of every step we walk.
I am likely one of the few people who love change. I believe there is so much life out there to experience in the large and glorious world, that simply staying in one place for forty plus years can never make sense to me and our children alike. I want to walk the El Camino de Santiago with my kids when they are older, travel to Sienna and Assisi, experience the ruins in Greece which is my heritage leaving no stone unturned. I have been blessed to travel a great deal already in my life, now I will do so with the one’s I love. You should never apologize or feel the need to explain it to anyone if that’s your journey.
RUAH is our dream, we are making it happen today. Our steps have been unsteady, we have fallen more than once. But we trust we are headed in the right direction and are grateful for every step we have stumbled upon along the way. The people we have met, the places we have visited and the lessons learned have been priceless adding to our journey today. Yes, we find gratitude in absolutely everything and by doing so find the beauty I speak of in the changing of every leaf. One day soon when we open the doors to RUAH, one and all alike will be able to come to our House and make the time for such reflection, growth, change and living in their blessings! Come back and continue to watch our progress, share our pages, videos, photos and gift shop…..watch RUAH bloom before you!!
